Workshop 1 Announced: AI and Emerging Technologies Shaping the Future of Sport at the International Sports Summit 2025
Day 2 of the International Sports Summit will open with a deep-dive workshop on the opportunities and challenges of AI and emerging technologies, featuring leaders from Duke University, Madison Square Garden, and Alcatraz AI.
The International Sports Summit 2025 continues its forward-looking agenda with the announcement of Workshop 1: AI and Emerging Technologies - Opportunities and Challenges in the Future of Sport, taking place on Day 2 (13 November) at 11:00 a.m. in the Duke.
Moderated by Kasia Hanson, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Alcatraz, the session will feature Professor David Brown (Duke University) and John Eversole, EVP, Chief Security Officer and Global Head of Enterprise Technology at The Madison Square Garden Company.
This workshop will explore how artificial intelligence and next-generation technologies are reshaping the business and operations of sport — from data-driven decision-making and performance analytics to venue security and organisational transformation.
Through an open, solution-led discussion, the panel will address both opportunities and vulnerabilities emerging as the sports industry adopts AI at scale. Topics will include:
How AI is redefining recruitment, fan engagement, and commercial strategy
The evolving threat landscape for digital and physical security
Balancing innovation with ethical, financial, and operational responsibility
The future of human and machine collaboration in sports leadership
The conversation will also feed into solution-based roundtable discussions, allowing attendees to translate insight into practical action across their own organisations.
Workshop 1 will set the tone for Day 2 of the Summit - connecting innovation, technology, and strategic leadership as sport enters a new era of transformation.
