Tiger Woods has signed an exclusive deal with American video game publisher 2K Games with the golfing icon set to star in the PGA Tour 2K game series.
The 15-time Major winner is set to be an executive director and a consultant with 2K for their PGA Golf Tour series. As the deal is exclusive with 2K, only them and their subsidiaries will be able to make golfing simulations featuring Woods and his likeness.
2K has also partnered with game developer HB Studios multimedia, who they’ve worked with in the past to develop their most recent golf simulation game, PGA Tour 2K21.
2K was founded in 2005 and has gone on to release numerous high-profile games across the industry. They are particularly well-known for their production of their annual NBA 2K games, which they have published since 2005.
On the partnership, Wood’s said, "I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen.”
“I’m honoured to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together."
