Southampton FC launches official mobile app

Southampton Football Club have announced the launch of its official mobile app aimed at bringing "fans closer to the action".

Southampton FC launches official mobile app

Developed in collaboration with Realife Tech, the experience automation platform, the app brings together the latest news, match updates, best-in-class fan engagement features and app-exclusive content with players past and present - kicking off with interviews featuring Marian Pahars and Kelvin Davis who relive their Saints careers.

Supporters will be able to engage with interactive polls and quizzes, upload their pictures to a photo wall, buy merchandise through the in-app store and purchase match tickets, all directly through the app.

The club is celebrating the launch with an exclusive competition where one fan will be selected at random to join a video call with a Southampton first team player, courtesy of club partner Virgin Media. One runner-up will win a 2021/22 season ticket.

The app includes features that will enhance the matchday experience once supporters are allowed to safely return to the St Mary’s stadium, including contactless tickets that can be purchased and accessed directly through the app, and the ability to pre-order food and drinks.

Adam Goodyer, CEO and founder of Realife Tech, said: “We are thrilled to be working with a fantastic Premier League partner to help football fans receive the news and information they want to know in-venue and at home.

“When fans are able to enjoy matches in person again, functionality like mobile ticketing, ticket sharing and contactless food and beverage ordering will help create a more seamless and secure experience for all.”

David Thomas, chief commercial officer at Southampton FC, added: “We’re excited to be bringing our fans closer to the action, using industry-leading technology to enhance the supporter experience.

“The app will transform how we engage with our fans and we also look forward to seeing the benefits it will bring to matchdays at St Mary’s when we’re able to welcome them back.”
