Premier League side, Sheffield United Football Club yesterday announced a new global partnership with Mondelēz International, the owners of Cadbury. The deal means that Cadbury is now the ‘Official Snacking Partner’ of the Blades.
Sheffield United have become the most recent football club to sign a partnership with Mondelēz International, who only recently signed partnerships with seven other Premier League clubs for the beginning of the 2020-21 season.
The partnership is set to focus on helping local businesses through donating their media assets. Businesses will be given the opportunity to apply online to advertise their brand through Sheffield United’s channels, which will be assisted by Cadbury’s assets.
Cadbury has had a factory based in Sheffield since 1842, and is keen to help out local businesses where possible in times of financial struggle due to COVID. The deal is set to run through from the 2020-21 season to the 2022-23 season.
Sheffield United’s Head of Commercial, Paul Reeves said: "We are enormously proud to welcome Cadbury as a partner for the next three seasons. The synergies between our football club and Cadbury are apparent for all to see, with this partnership allowing one of the countries' most loved brands to offer unparalleled access to our club".
