Online car retailer Cazoo has sponsored the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in a £1 million plus deal, becoming the largest sponsorship agreement in the tournament's history.
The seven-figure deal will make Cazoo the principal sponsor of the tournament, which is set to take place in England in 2021. It gives the company the chance to have their branding shown to thousands of people watching across the UK and millions watching on TV around the world.
Commercial Director of the Rugby League World Cup, Jonathan Neill, said: “Rugby League World Cup 2021 is about being bold and brave and setting firsts for the tournament. This is the largest sponsorship deal in Rugby League World Cup history, and we are grateful for the trust Cazoo have shown in the tournament.”
“RLWC2021 and Cazoo share many of the same principles and values, both have a clear ethical purpose, and we will work together to continue to be trailblazing and positively disruptive over the next 12 months.”
The tournament will take place across England between the 23rd of October until the 27th of November. A total of 21 venues will be used for the Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair tournaments, including the likes of Old Trafford, The Emirates and Anfield. Newcastle United’s St James’s Park will host the opening of the competition next October.
