Philadelphia 76ers sign sponsorship deal with Verizon

National Basketball Association (NBA) team Philadelphia 76ers have announced that American telecommunications company Verizon have become their new official team partner.


The three-time NBA Champions sponsorship deal means that Verizon will become the 76ers official mobile 5G sponsor, as well as the official presenting partner of the 76ers mobile application.


Additionally, the partnership will allow customers of Verizon’s loyalty programme to have the chance to claim 76ers prizes and VIP tickets.


Katie O’Reilly, 76ers Chief Revenue Officer said: “We are excited to partner with Verizon, a leader in technology, to deliver new fan experiences in the 76ers team app as well as 5G capabilities”.


“As the official presenting partner of the app and an exclusive mobile partner, Verizon will usher us into a new era of innovation by using their technology to help us connect and engage with our fans. We are especially excited to collaborate on their Verizon Up customer loyalty program and see their brand and customers come to life at future 76ers games.”


The 76ers currently lie in 4th place in the NBA Eastern Conference, with 9 wins and 5 losses. Their game due today against Oklahoma Thunder has been postponed due to traces of COVID-19 in the Philadelphia camp.
