Manchester City youngster Phil Foden has linked up with EA Sports for the first episode of the 'Win As One', three-part short film series.
The series has been designed to explore the communities, families and friendships that have developed some of the brightest young talents in the game.
Phil Foden stars in the first film of the series, which has been directed by Dean George and produced by Ten Toes Media and focuses on the importance of Foden's community of Stockport, where he grew up, with the area's local cafes, streets and pitches highlighted alongside first-hand accounts from the people and places that have seen him rise in the game to become one of the most promising youngsters in football.
In the film, Foden's friends and family , as well as members of the Stockport community now shares in is success and claims that when he wins, they win - with the film tying into EA Sports' FIFA 21 'Win As One' messaging.
“Being part of the EA Sports family has offered me the opportunity to shine a light on my local community,” said Foden.
“Without the support of the people of Stockport, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today, so it’s a proud moment for me. It was amazing to work with EA Sports and Ten Toes Media to bring my childhood story to life.”
Alex Wilde, Athletes Relations Director at EA Sports, said: “Phil sets the world alight every time he steps on the pitch. It’s amazing to see the positive impact he has on his local community and it’s a story we are proud to tell with him. It was great to work alongside Ten Toes Media to bring this to life, especially with such a strong approach to the creative.”
Dean George, Creative Director at Ten Toes Media, added: “Stardom often leads players to leave behind the places and people that shaped them, but Phil’s different. The local hero still views himself as a humble member of the Stockport community, and embodies the ‘Win As One’ spirit that EA Sports has looked to champion in their FIFA 21 marketing.
“In this film, we have looked to hero the power of togetherness, showcasing the importance of home to Phil and what Phil means to the people of Stockport.”
The first 'Win As One' film is a continuation of the work that EA Sports has done to showcase the next generation of football stars, with others set to feature in the series in the coming weeks.
