England rugby captain Owen Farrell has signed a long-term deal with sportswear brand Castore, to launch a new boot and apparel range.
The new deal marks a first for the brand into the sport of rugby, having recently launched partnerships with Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers, Formula One team McLaren Racing, the West Indies cricket team and the National Rugby League's (NRL) Melbourne Storm.
The 29-year-olds signing to Castore also signals the brand's most significant athlete deal since Andy Murray in 2019.
Farrell will now work alongside Castore to produce a range of boots and apparel, the first time the brand, which was founded by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon in 2015, will have created performance footwear.
“We are hugely excited about welcoming Owen Farrell to the Castore family,” said Pascal Lafitte, Head of Team Partnerships, Castore.
“Owen transcends sporting emotions through his leadership and constant search for perfection, and this naturally aligns with our values as a brand. We look forward to building a strong relationship with Owen for many years to come, with unique and engaging campaigns at the heart of it.”
The England skipper added: “I’m excited to be partnering with Castore. It’s a brand that I think shares my mindset and passion for sport. Having the opportunity to develop a signature boot and apparel range with the Castore team is something I am really looking forward to.”
Additionally, Farrell will feature in Castore’s 'Better Never Stops' campaign throughout 2021 alongside Murray.
