The Los Angeles Lakers and star player LeBron James remain top of the NBA’s most popular team merchandise and individual jersey rankings.
Lebron James’ jersey holds its position of most global sales from July 30 to September 28, while the Lakers remain top sellers on NBAStore.com during the 2020 NBA restart.
The 35-year-old superstar remains the league's most marketable and popular player in what is his 17th season. Lakers teammate Anthony Davis’ jersey came in at third best-seller, while Luka Dončić’s sales surge earned him second position.
NBA Rookie of the year, Ja Morant made his debut on the top 15 most popular jersey’s list, in 15th place.
The top five was made up of Boston Celtic’s 22-year old Jayson Tatum and Milwaukee Bucks’ small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The two teams with the most NBA Championships in league history claimed the top two positions for the merchandise list, with the Lakers being followed by Boston Celtics (2nd). Chicago Bulls (3rd), are the highest ranking non-playoff team and Miami Heat (4th), who are battling the Lakers in the NBA finals, are joined by Golden State Warriors (5th), despite posting the League’s worst record in the 2019/20 season, to form the top 5.
Toronto Raptors are in sixth place, notwithstanding having no players in the top 15 for jersey sales list.
Completing the top 10 are Dallas Mavericks (7th), Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks (8th), Portland Trail Blazers (9th) and Denver Nuggets (10th).
