La Liga to build official sports complex in Madrid

La Liga and T3N Sport & Investment are to build new multi-use sports and business facility in Madrid, as part of a 15-year collaboration agreement between the two entities.

Based, near the Madrid city centre, in the El Bosque Residential Park, the complex will be sporting hub for La Liga. The facility will have the ability to welcome up to 450 people with access being available to all La Liga clubs and partners. The new development includes, football pitches, basketball courts, gym, swimming pool, dining rooms, a library and residential facilities. The site will also host an international school with classrooms for learning and training purposes.

The site is set to be fully operational by summer 2021 which will be a hub for commercial and branding partners who have a relationship with the Spanish football league. The new set-up will also host national and international projects for sport and training, while being the centre for other opportunities involving branding, commercial strategy and other numerous events.

The cost is yet to be established, as information concerning the project and the participation of other sporting property will be revealed at a later date, according to La Liga.

With the work set to be completed for the summer of 2021, Oscar Mayo, La Liga’s director of business, marketing and international development, has said, “One of La Liga's primary objectives is to help the development of sport, and with this project we offer a comprehensive solution that meets the needs of the industry, with special emphasis on our stakeholders,”

“It is the first privately owned multi-use centre that will help the sports industry from a training, residential and sporting perspective, creating synergies with other facilities that La Liga already has around the world, for example, in China, Dubai and soon Vietnam, among others.”

David Pampliega, T3N’s managing partner, added: “This is a unique project in the world right now. In addition to having the support and collaboration of the most important football brand in existence, we will soon be able to announce the incorporation of one of the world’s most influential sports institutions."
