Major League Baseball's (MLB) Cincinnati Reds are set to offer discounted tickets to games for fans who have received a COVID-19 vaccination.
View level tickets will be available at a reduced price of US$10 for those fans who show their coronavirus vaccination card, according to the franchise, making them the first US sports team to offer an incentive for taking up the offer of receiving a vaccine for the virus, which has disrupted the sporting landscape for the past year.
The offer has been made valid at ticket windows at the Great American Ball Park for matches played between Monday and Thursday in April and May. Six tickets will be available to purchase with each vaccine card shown.
To help support COVID measures, the tickets once purchased will be issued digitally via the MLB Ballpark app to allow for contactless entry.
Over 30 per cent of Ohios population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
CDC has added that over 19.5 per cent of Ohio's population has been fully vaccinated against the disease, which is in line with national average.
