Esports league BLAST Premier has announced a new partnership with cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase.
The collaboration between the pair will see cryptocurrency brought closer to the world of esports and gaming through integrated digital activations and player-led content.
The partnership between the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) esports league and the crypto exchange platform will include branding across the Spring Showdown from 13-18 April, and the Spring Finals from 15-20 June. Activations will include branded content opportunities and fan-led activations. The Coinbase logo will feature on the castor backdrop, in-game animated branding and sponsor bars.
Coinbase will also be sponsoring BLAST Premier’s The Economy Play broadcast segment, which sees analysts discuss economy rounds between key matches. The segment will take an in depth look into how teams use their in-game money and they say the sponsorship will be used to bring cryptocurrency closer to the world of eSports and gaming. It’ll also give an insight into how teams perform during a match.
“Esports and cryptocurrency both share a strong relationship with technology and innovation,” said Oliver Clarke, Head of Brand Partnerships, BLAST.
“BLAST Premier is enjoyed on a global scale with an audience that is known to be tech savvy. We look forward to seeing the result of fans engaging with the safe, secure and world-leading cryptocurrency exchange platform.”
