Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have formed a partnership with the e-commerce company Amazon, launching an official club store on the website of the world’s largest retailer.
Supplied by kit manufacture Kappa, fans in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK will be able to purchase official merchandise, kit and accessories from the store.
“An important step in the development of the AS Monaco brand”. Said Chief Executive and Vice-President Oleg Petrov.
“Our collaboration with Amazon is an important step in the development of the AS Monaco brand,
“The launch of this official page, a first for a Ligue 1 club, will increase visibility of our brand, but also to facilitate access to our official products for fans across Europe.” Oleg said in a statement on the official club website.
Yet, AS Monaco are not the only football team in Europe to sign a deal with Amazon.
Last August, Tottenham Hotspur signed a similar agreement which sees the North London club have an official store on the retailers’ website. However, the agreement is believed to be more focused on the promotion of the documentary series All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur, shown on Amazon Prime.
AS Monaco hope to benefit from the services Amazon offer their customers which has changed consumption over recent years. All products on the club store will be eligible for Amazon Prime delivery, which is a premium delivery service, offering members unlimited same-day and next-day delivery on orders.
The Amazon Prime sport documentary series have also received great reviews, taking fans behind-the-scenes within elite sport. It wouldn’t be a surprise if AS Monaco announce a documentary series with Amazon following the recent partnership between Amazon and the Ligue 1 side.
