The agency was founded by, and will be headed up by Jamie Barlow who has worked with some of the biggest names in professional cycling over the past eight years.

At launch, 258 Protégé announced the signing of Finn Fisher Black of UAE Team Emirates; Sarah Gigante of Movistar; Niamh Fisher Black of SD Workx; Oscar Nilsson Julien of British Cycling Academy; Leo Hayter of Team DSM Devo; and Nicholas Dlamini of Team Qhubeka NextHash.

"258MGT has positioned itself as an industry leader, managing athletes from turning professional to becoming World and Olympic Champions. What 258MGT has achieved within boxing and the commercial position and brand portfolio it sits in is unparalleled in the sport,” said Barlow.

“AJ is one of the biggest sports icons on the planet and that doesn't happen without a committed team behind him. We look forward to replicating this model with professional cyclists and offering a hands-on approach with a select number of talents over the coming years.

“We are in a unique position to disrupt the market and challenge the current shortfalls of the commercial elements of the sport & utilize the full support of the team 258MGT has built around AJ across legal, financial, PR and branding industry leaders. Our modus operandi will be to focus on elite talent with a quality over quantity hands-on approach.

“Having identified and worked with some of the best young talent the past eight years, WorldTour, Women’s World Tour, Pro Continental and Devo teams trust our opinion on talent. Outside of the cycling bubble we are the best connected commercial agency barring none.”

Joshua, Owner, 258MGT added: “This is a very exciting venture for our business and we will back Jamie 100%.

“Entering a new sport is a big decision for us and one we are highly motivated to achieve the same level of success we have had in boxing. We look forward to working with elite talent that share our vision. When I turned professional, I worked hard to build a world-class team around me that manage all aspects of my career from commercial opportunities to my sport related business. Fortunately, we are now in a position to offer this team to elite level cyclists in order to maximize their own career potential on and off the bike.”
