Major League Baseball’s (MLB) New York Yankees will be partnering with Amazon in a deal to stream 21 games during the 2021 regular season.
A new deal between New York Yankees, Amazon and YES Network will see 21 games streamed on Amazon Prime Video across the duration of the 2021 Major League Baseball season.
A deal was originally agreed for games to be shown during the 2020 campaign before the MLB season was shortened to only 60 games, due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that YES Network kept the games for themselves.
Included in the 21 games are three against the Boston Red Sox, two against the Tampa Bay Rays, one against the New York Mets and numerous more.
The games will only be shown regionally in New York, Connecticut, north east Pennsylvania and north and central New Jersey. They will be at no extra cost to people who already have an Amazon Prime membership.
Prime Video’s Yankees coverage will feature Amazon’s X-Ray technology, enabling fans who are streaming on Android, iOS mobile, and Fire TV to access live in-game stats, team and player details, and real-time play-by-play information as they watch.
The first Yankees game set to be shown on Amazon Prime is their match-up against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, April 18th.
