AC Milan is set to launch its own Twitch channel on December 3 to broadcast unique content to fans around the world.
The Amazon-owned streaming platform has become one of the viewed platforms in recent years, which has led to a number of European clubs launching their own official channels.
The Italian giants will display content from the men’s and women’s first teams, youth teams, legends and archive footage, all of which will be adapted for the unique platform.
From the outset, AC Milan have planned for three weekly shows on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday but further programming is set to be added, including users being able to interact with current and former players of the club through live question and answers sessions, hosted by journalists from Milan TV and high-profile streamers.
“The launch of AC Milan’s official channel on Twitch is another important brand-new step in the club's digitisation process: our aim is to connect, bring together and thrill the more than 450 million Rossoneri fans all over the world,” said Lamberto Siega, AC Milan marketing and digital director.
“We are convinced that this is the right path to make AC Milan both a sports icon and a benchmark in entertainment and digital innovation.”
Pontus Eskilsson, VP of Partnerships EMEA, added: “Twitch is a community of superfans who gather every day to participate in and interact with their entertainment. Our community is AC Milan’s community, and this channel makes the most of everything Twitch has to offer.”
Earlier this year, Twitch moved to have its own dedicated sports content channel /twitchsports to expand its audience and reach to an even bigger market, following “tremendous growth” in the viewing of sport on the channel.
European clubs Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal all agreed to partner with Twitch upon the launch of its new sector, a list that AC Milan will now join in the company of.
